When Labour came to power, there were 3,180 businesses in Birkenhead - from pubs to printers; cafes to car repairs.

These businesses employ thousands of people yet both the businesses and their employees are now being hit by new taxes.

Nationally, increased taxes on jobs and higher Business Rates are making it harder, not helped by a Labour-led council that is anything but pro-business.
